Pray the whole novena with us, one day at a time: the life of Saint Benedict, the prayer of the day, meditation and the blessing of the medal — in video and in a free companion book.
Saint Benedict of Nursia left everything to seek God — and from his cave came the strength that rebuilt Europe.
The Novena to Saint Benedict prepares the heart for the feast of the saint, on July 11. It is nine days of prayer, from July 2 to 10, each with an episode from the life of Saint Benedict and a grace to ask for: to let go of what binds us, to learn silence, to overcome temptation, to let the cross reveal the hidden poisons, to turn work into prayer, to order our life, to love more, to live prepared and, on the last day, to hand everything over beneath the holy Cross.
Each day has a short, contemplative video: the story, the Prayer of the Novena — with the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be prayed together —, a meditation with three keys, a moment of silence and the blessing with the words of the medal of Saint Benedict.
On the first day you choose the grace you will ask for; over the nine days, you renew and deepen the request; on the feast, you offer it. The companion book in PDF brings the complete novena to follow along, with a QR code for each day that leads straight to the video.
“May the holy Cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide.”
Step back, Satan; never tempt me with your vanities. What you offer me is evil; drink the poison yourself. For centuries these words, engraved on the medal of Saint Benedict, have protected those who pray them — and in this novena you learn where they come from and what they mean.
Not just a prayer to repeat: it is a nine-day journey.
The prayer for each day, with the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be — to pray along, not just listen.
Each day opens with a real episode from the saint’s life — from the cave of Subiaco to his death on his feet.
Three simple ideas each day to turn prayer into a concrete decision in your life.
A contemplative video each day and the novena book in PDF, with a QR code to follow along.
